ABOUT ME
process
I am Adib Haddad, a former finance professional who turned to art in 2020 following a personal shift driven by a search for meaning and self-understanding. What began as an intuitive transition developed into a spiritual practice — a way to translate thought, emotion, and perception into visual form.
My early works consisted of charcoal portraits capturing raw human expression. From 2021 to 2023, these evolved into black-and-white acrylic compositions exploring contrast and duality. By 2024, my practice entered a new phase of chromatic abstraction and patterned systems.
Today, I work primarily on 100 × 100 cm canvases, constructing each painting within the square format around a central core – the inner self. The square establishes a framework of structure and containment, while the compositions generate a sense of inward movement.
Across my work, I explore opposition, continuity, and the relationship between structure and variation. My practice moves from figuration toward system-based abstraction, where form is progressively reduced and organized within a consistent framework. The work balances intuitive gesture with structural control, forming an ongoing investigation into order, variation, and spatial depth.
Stroke by stroke, layer by layer, I build each painting through a controlled process of accumulation. I mix my own acrylic hues to achieve subtle variations in tone, working primarily with complementary colors to construct depth and texture.
I paint on unstretched canvas. Finished works are shipped rolled in a tube and accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
